A Bible Dictionary is a reference work containing encyclopedic entries related to the Bible. These entries are usually about people, places, customs, doctrine, and Biblical criticism.

What is a Bible Encyclopedia?

A Bible Encyclopedia contains articles and definitions to thousands of words and terms used in Scripture.  The entries will contain full historical references such as dates, religious environment, family custom, and language.

The library offers many different types of Bible Dictionaries and Encyclopedia, both online and in print.  When searching in the library, you will find that they will generally start with the Library of Congress Call number BS440.
